MISSION:
1) Develop a town-wide system of trails as proposed in the 2005 Plan of Conservation & Development.
The system is to serve both recreational and transportation needs for all ages and for a variety of
means: foot, bicycle, cross country ski and horseback.
2) Coordinate efforts with the state, Joshua's Trust, greenway organizations and private land owners.
3) Maintain and provide stewards for existing trails on public property.
4) Promote public appreciation for trail systems including development of signage, trail guides and
education with regard to trail markings and trail courtesy.
The Committee will be sponsoring a series of hikes and trail work days. New volunteers for any of this committee’s activities are always welcome.

Tom McGrath and members of Columbia Scout Troop 162 begin to set more than 100 feet of stepping stones on a trail along Mono Pond.
