COMMUNITY BEACH
RULES
& REGULATIONS
WATER
AND BEACH SAFETY
The
safety and welfare of the members and guests of the Community
Beach is chief concern of the Town of Columbia, the following
Code of Behavior, adapted in part from the American Red
Cross Life Saving and Water Safety Manual and other sources,
will apply to the Columbia Community Beach:
·The
responsibility for safety and welfare is first INDIVIDUAL,
and second that
of the supervisor or lifeguard when on duty. Parents
and/or guardians are
responsible for supervising their children while
at the beach.
·
Swimming, jumping or diving into the waters to the left
of the T-Dock is
PROHIBITED. This area is restricted to boat launching.
·
ANY HORSEPLAY on the beach and piers, such as running, pushing
and
dunking, front and back flips, etc. is FORBIDDEN.
No floating toys or life
preservers will be permitted in the swimming area.
·
Any activity which leads to damage of any property is PROHIBITED.
·
Alcoholic beverages are forbidden on any part of the property
beach, picnic
area, or parking lot at any time.
·
Smoking is prohibited in the beach area.
·
The beach area is for swimming and sunbathing. All picnicking
is restricted to
the picnic area.
·
At no time shall access to the water be restricted by the
use of blankets, chairs,
or other paraphernalia.
·
All glass containers are PROHIBITED in the beach area.
·
Undressing in cars or on the beach is PROHIBITED. Clothing
is not to be left in
the dressing rooms.
·
Rinsing of diapers or infants in the lake water is PROHIBITED.
Please discard
used diapers by first placing them in a sealed
plastic bag and then into the
trash receptacles. Use bathrooms to wash children
off.
·
No animals (with the exception of guide dogs), bikes or
cars are allowed
beyond the parking lot.
·
Gum chewing and eating of food while in the water is dangerous
and not
allowed.
USER
INFORMATION
·
ADMITTANCE TO THE BEACH WILL NOT BE PERMITTED WITHOUT
BEACH CARDS. Season passes are required for admission
for each person
age 7 and over. Beach users are required to sign
in.
·
Resident pass holders may bring guests at $4 per day per
guest age 13 and
over, and $2 per day per guest age 7 to 12, payable
at sign-in. Guests must be
accompanied by pass holder at all times.
·
Children age 12 & under must be accompanied by an adult
(age 18 or over).
·
One adult (age 18 or over) is required for supervision of
every 5 non-familial
persons aged 12 and under in a group.
THE
BEACH SUPERVISOR AND THE LIFEGUARDS ARE AUTHORIZED TO ENFORCE
THESE RULES. ANY VIOLATIONS MAY RESULT IN SUSPENSION OF
BEACH PRIVILEGES.
