The Town of Columbia is now accepting applications for the per diem position of Floater. This positon reports to various departments. The hours of work will vary weekly and daily, according to Town need. Pay is $ 11.77 per hour, with no benefits. The Columbia Conservation and Agricultural Commission is sponsoring its 2010 Columbia Photo Contest. The two entry categories are the agricultural beauty of Columbia and the open space or natural beauty of Columbia. Photos will be judged on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at noon and will be on display from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the Adella G. Urban Administrative Offices Conference Room, 323 Route 87. Please mail entries to the Conservation and Agricultural Commission, 323 Route 87, Columbia, CT.

The Conservation & Agricultural Commission is in the planning stage for the 2010 Columbia Farmner's Market tentatively scheduled for September 25th. The commission is seeking volunteers and committee members to help effectively plan and run this event. The 2010 Market will be cancelled if there is not sufficient support.
