The Transfer Station hours are Wednesday and Saturdays - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The facility is located on Route 6 next to the DPW Garage, 89 Rte 6, and is open to Columbia Residents. Columbia's commercial and non-profit enterprises are not allowed to use the facility. Residents may gain access to the Transfer Station Facility by purchasing a Transfer Station Permit at the Town Hall, Office of the Town Administrator or Town Clerk's Office. Residents must apply these permits on their car windshields.

Applications can be dropped off at the drop box located at Yeoman's Hall - Include a self-addressed stamped envelope for mailing for this option. Stickers can also be purchased online on the Rec Desk website. Registration on Rec Desk is required. Once registered click on "Programs" and scroll down to "Transfer Station Pass". The standard permit price (2 stickers) is $60 per household for non-seniors and $30 per household for seniors (62 and over). Up to 2 additional stickers may be purchased at $20 each.

Disposal of Leaves:

Please do not dispose of leaves by blowing/raking them into the street. By blowing leaves into the street this clogs up the catch basins and drainage ditches. The Town does not pick up leaves; however, the Transfer Station accepts leaves at no cost.

Hazardous Materials:

The Columbia Transfer Station does not accept Hazardous Materials.  Some hazardous Materials can be brought to the Willington Transfer Station (click here).
