Columbia’s Commission on Aging is currently seeking new members to fill 3 vacancies.  Per State Statute, the Columbia Commission on Aging (CONA) makes recommendations to the Columbia Board of Selectmen concerning the needs of Columbia senior citizens. CONA has three major areas of responsibility. These are:

  • Determine the needs of the elderly.
  • Recommend action.
  • Act as an advocate for the elderly by being their liaison to both the municipal agent and the general public.

Columbia’s Commission on Aging Mission Statement (CONA): Our mission is to identify the needs of Columbia’s seniors and seniors-to-be with the best resources available. We maintain the priority of supporting and advocating for our elderly and their families in all aspects of life by providing social services, transportation, education, health, recreation, and resources that support their wellbeing and independence.
